#coronadiary

Cyprus Paradise

While Corona was forcing us to stay at home in the spring of 2020, I rediscovered my home. #coronadiary is a journey through and around my home, directed by the rhythm of light and shadow, colors, shapes and forms. What started out as an Instagram project led to a small photobook, a time-lapse video and an accompanying song. While the book is looking at the inside, the time-lapse takes a look outside, watching the time go by - giving room to thoughts about this time and the situation in the song, "... don't go elsewhere for answers to the questions at hand ...".

Tamar, Where Are You?

Tamar, Where Are You

Look inside:

Tamar was the queen of Georgia ruling the country at the end of the 12th century, leading Georgia to the peak of its golden age - today, after centuries of foreign occupation and countless armed conflicts, Georgia presents itself as an aspiring republic. "Tamar, where are you?" is a photo-text book initiated by the German photographer Andreas Oetker-Kast and his long term photographic exploration of Georgia, in which the perspective is extended by stories of Georgian photographers and authors. It provides a deep insight into a country that is geographically and politically located between West and East, and thus at the center of a current debate.

With contributions by: Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili, Andreas Oetker-Kast, Dato Turashvili, Dina Oganova, Giorgi Shengelia, Giorgi Tabliashvili, Guram Tsibakhashvili, Natela Grigalashvili, Tinatin Kiguradze, Vakho Khetaguri, Yuri Mechitov

Cyprus Paradise

Cyprus Paradise

Paradise is a flimsy promise in Cyprus - while thousands of tourists flock to the island country every year to bask in the sun and the warmth of Cypriot hospitality, approximately 200.000 dogs await their fates either in private or state-run shelters or still as strays on the road, hoping for a new chance, close to death.

Cyprus Paradise is a project to raise awareness for the situation and the the suffering of these unwanted and abandoned dogs.

For every copy sold of this book we will donate three Euro of the proceeds to help the Argos Sanctuary in Cyprus further plan and implement a castration program.

looking for wonderland

auf der suche nach wunderland

Look inside:

A personal view of America aside from the highlights and usual freak shows. The photographer Andreas Oetker-Kast drove almost 7,300 miles with his wife Angelika and their dog Dumpty across the country from the West Coast to the East Coast. Traveling many a thousand miles of American daily life from Seattle to New York City, passing San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. Through the Nevada desert and Hurricane Irene, looking out over the Pacific, Lake Michigan and Samuel Adams' grave - looking for wonderland.

Richard Tooke, longtime Director of Rights & Reproductions, Photographic Archives and Photographic Studios at the Museum of Modern Art in New York writes in his foreword: "... his photographs speak through Andreas' own voice: straightforward, uncompromising and clear."

music

music

Lights go out, crowds cheer, musicians enter the stage and off we go. For the artists, every concert is an exposure and for us, their audience, it is a journey into their thoughts and feelings.

The book music is about that journey. The black & white photographs invite us to the magic you can only experience in a live concert.
